ABOUT ME

Born and raised in Virginia, I loved living in the Blue Ridge Mountains most of my life. I enjoyed crafting and making art while I worked as a bookkeeper. I began my journey into watercolor after moving to NC in 2014 and have continued with workshops and classes to learn more about this beautiful medium. Inspired by the colorful works of Ken Potter, I like to incorporate sunlight and shadows into many of my works. I am a member of the Wake Forest Guild of Artists and the Watercolor Society of NC.

When I started painting I chose watercolor because of it's transparency and the illumination that seems to come from within a painting. It is the colors and play of light on a scene that attracts me to a subject more than anything else. I enjoy the challenge of doing a photo realistic painting as well as the freedom of a  loose floral painting. I love to travel and find inspiration everywhere! My art is a piece of my heart and it brings me great joy for someone to bring my art into their home. My work has been shown in galleries in the Raleigh area including 311 Gallery and the Litmus Gallery. You can find my art, prints and cards throughout the state at Westside Gifts in Wake Forest, Lantana's Gallery in Southport, NC and Bel Air Art Center in Rocky Mount NC.
