Born and raised in Virginia, I loved living in the Blue Ridge Mountains most of my life. I enjoyed crafting and making art while I worked as a bookkeeper. Several years ago I moved to Wake Forest with my husband and quickly fell in love with the town and it's many art galleries. I began my journey into watercolor painting at that time and have continued with workshops and classes to learn more about this beautiful medium. Inspired by the colorful works of Ken Potter, I like to incorporate sunlight and shadows into many of my works. I am a member of the Wake Forest Guild of Artists and the Watercolor Society of NC.

When I started painting I chose watercolor because of it's transparency and the illumination that seems to come from within a painting. It is the colors and play of light on a scene that attracts me to a subject more than anything else. I enjoy the challenge of doing a photo realistic painting as well as the freedom of a  loose floral painting. I love to travel and find inspiration everywhere! My art is a piece of my heart and it brings me great joy for someone to bring my art into their home. My work has been shown in galleries in the Raleigh area including 311 Gallery and the Litmus Gallery. I am currently working on pieces for an upcoming solo exhibit at WakeMed North Hospital in Raleigh.

Leonardo the Sea Turtle was recently given the second place award from the Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue at the "For the love of turtles" show in Wilmington, NC.
